Knowehead House is an 1852 Victorian mansion house perched on the banks of the River Tay in Kinnoull, a charming conservation village overlooking the centre of Perth.  Built by a local solicitor for his family, Knowehead House has served many functions throughout its history.  After its redevelopment in 2016, Air Canada pilot Dave Bluhm and interior designer Chris Craig acquired the flat that has become
Knowehead No.3 - a luxury one-bedroom holiday let.

Knowehead No. 3 will be your 'home away from home'.  The exquisitely designed space features stunning views of the old city, a wood-burning stove, in-floor heating and a chef-quality kitchen. Within walking distance of public transit, amazing pubs, fine dining, and idyllic river paths, it's perfect for romantic getaways, business travel or as a holiday home base.

Perth Rail Station, with its connections to Edinburgh, Glasgow and north to Inverness is only a twenty minute walk away.  By car, M90 and M9 are but a short drive away. And many local buses stop right outside the door.

Mere moments from the flat visit Scone Palace, the ancient coronation place of the Scottish kings, or cross the River Tay to the North Inch and see  Balhousie Castle, home of the Black Watch Regiment.

outlander locations

 

From Doune Castle to Falkland town square, to Tibbermore Church and beyond, many of the filming locations for the blockbuster TV series 'Outlander ' are within an easy drive

of Knowehead House.

The Royal Family has long loved Scotland, so take some time to visit the Queen Mother's childhood home at Glamis Castle, the Queen's private retreat at Balmoral Castle

or her official residence

at Holyroodhouse Palace.

Whether it's a relaxing stroll along the Norie-Miller walk or around one of Inches, or an invigorating hike up Kinnoull Hill to survey the Tay Valley, Knowehead is the perfect location for those who want explore Perthshire 

by foot.

Perth offers many opportunities to enjoy the Scottish countryside.  Running trails start just outside the door, while fly-fishing and river sports are a short drive within town. Or go farther afield where repelling and rock diving can be found.

The hustle and bustle of Edinburgh and Glasgow, with their sights, shopping and fine dining are within easy reach.  But don't forget Scotland's smaller cities, like Stirling, with its magnificent castle, and Dundee with its new V&A Museum!

All are within a short drive or train ride.

If it's the best in Highland goods and produce you're in search of, look no further!  The area's many farm shops offer spectacular meats and produce, while the House of Bruar, a mere 40-minute drive away, provides the quint-essential Highland shopping

-- clothing, housewares and much more.

If golf is your thing, there are two golf courses within walking distance of the flat or drive to Gleneagles (15 minutes) or the Old Course at St. Andrew's (45 minutes).

tipple touring

 

Whether scotch is your sustenance or gin is your downfall, you'll find it not far from Perth.  Blair Athol Distillery is a short train ride to Pitlochry or invest a little time and blend your gin at Eden Mill Distillery's master blending class in St. Andrew's.

I can imagine no better home base to explore the history and beauty of Perth and the surrounding Scottish countryside than from this immaculate, cozy and fabulously appointed apartment.  ... From the incredibly comfortable bed, to the fantastic shower, to the wonderful cooks' kitchen, to the heated floors throughout, Knowehead No. 3 was everything you would hope a vacation rental could be.

for children under the age of 12.
